Today I went underground and did some tests for a projection I´m gonna set up for an event in the old sewer facility at Akershus Festning in June.

It is a superb place to do some projections. The only drawback is all the dirt I took with me home afterwards. At least I think it was dirt…

For the test I used a brand new Benq Sp840. That is an awesome projector! It´s quite cheap 1400 $ or so,full native HD and it spits out 4000 ANSI. I was surprised to see that it managed to light up quite well the area I´m gonna work on from 30 meters!!!

So far the plan for the projections is to use peoples shadows as an active element, and build up a cityscape out of shadows from objects spread out in the basin. And if I get the grasp of things I will use some flocking or particle system beamed from above that tracks peoples shadows.
